Neighbors Margaret “Mags” O’Brian and Johnny D’Antoni put in 20 years at their respective NY police forces to retire in peace at Glade’s End, an older, working class housing development in South Florida at the very edge of the Everglades. But their peace and quiet is shattered by a series of giant reptiles and amphibians that appear on their street, in their homes, and that eat their friends. Mags and Johnny and their neighbors are soon trapped between the US Army that wants the monsters dead, and a trek through the wilderness on their own to escape the very continent that will soon be beholden to and overrun by what is coming from the Glades.
